OUR THEME WAS PETS :)

We started our topic by studying animal flashcards. First we saw the pictures, then we learned their names and  we imitated the sound they make :) We also listened to the real sounds of animals and tried to guess. As Red Frogs family we loved that theme!

Here we read a story. The story was about a cat and a dog who went shopping. It also helped us understanding big and small concepts.

BIG and SMALL
For this activity we gave a big dog and a small dog and a big cat and a small cat to each child. We wanted them to paste big dog and cat to where we wrote "big" and we wanted the same thing for the "small" part. They did great job!

Cookie
Also our puppet "Cookie" helped us understand "big" and "small" concepts too. He wanted to have a pet but he didn't want to have a small pet like a fish, a bird or a rabbit. Every time we asked him he wanted a bigger one. In the end we learned what he wanted as a pet. He wanted to have an elephant!

"A cat or a bird... Which one is bigger?"

We listened songs and stories in order to explore our topic more effectively and we played an online game named "Pick a pet"

"Find your mate" game
First we chose four kids, two kids were  to be dogs and two were for to be ducks. We covered their eyes because they were to find each other according to the sounds they made. "Dogs" barked woof woof woof and the "ducks" said quack quack quack and finally they found their mate :)

Stations
Here when they heard the animal's name they tried to find the correct one on the wall. They had to find the correct animal but also they needed to be fast :)

Pets' masks
In this station kids chose a pet to make a mask of  and then they made them using plastic plates and some other materials.

                                                         Art Lesson Time
And here are some photos of us taken in our Art lesson. During the last two weeks we started painting on a canvas. It is real fun.

We love colors, we love painting."
